Paola Navone and eclectism /Paola Navone y su eclecticismo

The eclectic and colorful designer Paola Navone has had on their hands to design an entire world , going from ; lamps , interiors, furniture, clothing, cloth fabrications etc ... - ANYTHING , she makes a better version of itself creating everything you can and within its power , including an impressive collection with Crate and Barrel.

This week the team meets with Interior Design in the HBF showroom in New York during the Check-In to 200 Lexon April 23 . Before the big event Navone answer a few questions about the here and now of a designer .

Interior Design : Can you tell us about the current projects you are working on that you 're excited ?

Paola Navone : 'm finishing two challenging projects for AS on opposite sides of the world: Point Yamu luxury resort in Phuket and hotelMetropolitan by COMO , Miami Beach. I had the opportunity to design spaces that might contain special AS philosophy , sharing with the idea that luxury today can appreciate the simplicity , respect for traditions, is contemporary and not create a hostile environment .

I just finished the last of the three collections of Crate and Barrel, the second of which is now in the shop and it is to be outdoors , from furniture to accessories. And two new extensive collections of Baxter and Gervasoni have presented a few weeks ago during the Milan Design Week .

ID : Are there specific places that inspire you ?

PN: The world around me is my source of inspiration . No matter where I am , I get inspiration. Something special can also be found in that little shop around the corner. I still images " Collecting" , colors , materials , energy , tastes , crafts - probably act more like an " anthropologist objects" eccentric designer .

ID : What aspect of design do you like best ?

PN: In this period of interior design is the most interesting aspect of my work . My office has two sides. It works in product design , furniture , accessories , textiles, objects , following all the rules of industrial production , with a more controlled energy. The second work on interior design projects - public shows "ephemeral " production projects in which it is possible to "push" on creativity.

ID : What technological advances in design are you most excited about using your own work?

In my work I like to mix things that come from different worlds in space and time. Enjoy the same project combining poetry of craftsmanship and the power of digital technology , the old and rough beauty of things handmade with ideas, materials, techniques from the future. I'm always looking for new ways to create the "contamination" between things.

In my work I appreciate the simplicity and imperfection we promote . Give a second chance in life to things that are already in use for me a natural and powerful movement for creativity . I want to communicate a relaxing atmosphere and positive energy in everything I do.

ID : Is there an area of ​​design that you have yet to meet , but would like to ?


I've never designed the interiors of ships or cruises. I think the hotels have some kind of " connection" to the location where they are. Boats are floating in the sea, but are designed as urban hotels . I like to design the interior of a ship that makes people feel exactly where they are floating in the ocean .

La diseñadora ecléctica y colorida Paola Navone ha tenido en sus manos un mundo entero para diseñar, pasando desde; lámparas, interiores, muebles, ropa, fabricaciones de tela etc...- LO QUE SEA, ella hace una mejor versión de si misma creando todo lo que pueda y esté a su alcance, incluyendo una colección impresionante con Crate and Barrel.

Esta semana se reune con el equipo de Interior Design en el HBF showroom en Nueva York durante el Check-In to 200 Lex en Abril 23. Antes del gran evento Navone contesta unas cuantas preguntas acerca del aquí y el ahora de una diseñadora.

Diseño de interiores: ¿Puede hablarnos de los proyectos actuales que está trabajando en eso que usted está entusiasmado?

Paola Navone: Estoy terminando dos proyectos desafiantes para COMO en los lados opuestos del mundo:  Point Yamu luxury resort en Phuket y la hotelMetropolitan by COMO, Miami Beach. Tuve la oportunidad de diseñar espacios que podrían contener la filosofía de COMO especial, compartiendo con la idea de que el lujo hoy en día puede apreciar la sencillez, el respeto a las tradiciones, sea contemporánea y no crear un ambiente agresivo.

Acabo de terminar la última de las tres colecciones de Crate and Barrel, el segundo de los cuales se encuentra ahora en la tienda y se trata de estar al aire libre, desde muebles hasta accesorios. Y dos nuevas colecciones extensas de Baxter y Gervasoni se han presentado hace unas semanas durante la Milan Design Week.

ID: ¿Hay lugares específicos que te inspiran? 

PN: El mundo que me rodea es mi fuente inagotable de inspiración. No importa donde estoy, puedo coger inspiración. Algo especial también se puede encontrar en esa pequeña tienda a la vuelta de la esquina. Sigo imágenes "Collecting", los colores, los materiales, la energía, los gustos, la artesanía-probablemente actúan más como un "antropólogo de objetos" excéntrico de un diseñador.

ID: ¿Qué aspecto de diseño Qué te gusta más? 

PN: En este período de diseño de interiores es el aspecto más interesante de mi trabajo. Mi oficina tiene dos caras. Se trabaja en el diseño de productos, muebles, accesorios, textiles, objetos-siguiendo todas las reglas de la producción industrial, con una energía más controlado. Los segundos trabajos en proyectos de diseño de interiores-público, exposiciones, "efímeras" de producción de proyectos en los que es posible para "empujar" en la creatividad.


ID : ¿Qué avances tecnológicos en el diseño es lo que más entusiasmados con el uso de su propio trabajo?

En mi trabajo me gusta mezclar cosas que vienen de diferentes mundos en el espacio y el tiempo. Disfruto combinando en el mismo proyecto de la poesía de la artesanía y el poder de las técnicas digitales, la antigua y áspera belleza de las cosas hechas a mano con ideas , materiales, técnicas provenientes del futuro. Siempre estoy buscando nuevas maneras de crear la "contaminación " entre las cosas.

En mi trabajo yo aprecio la simplicidad y promuevo la imperfección. Dar una segunda oportunidad de vida a las cosas que ya están en uso es para mí un movimiento natural y de gran alcance para la creatividad. Quiero comunicar un ambiente relajante y energía positiva en todo lo que hago .

ID : ¿Hay un área de diseño de que usted tiene todavía para hacer frente , pero le gustaría ?

Nunca he diseñado los interiores de los barcos o cruceros . Yo creo que los hoteles tienen algún tipo de " conexión " con la ubicación en la que se encuentren. Barcos están flotando en el mar, sino que están diseñados como hoteles urbanos. Me gustaría diseñar los interiores de un barco que hace que la gente se sienta exactamente donde están flotando en el océano.
